KITAL
The Kashim Ibrahim Tala Annual Lecture was created in 2012 by the Cameroon English Language and Literature Association in recognition of Emeritus Professor Tala’s significant contribution to higher education in Cameroon. As the first Cameroonian to earn a PhD from/in a Cameroonian University, Professor Tala worked in different capacities for close to forty years in Cameroon’s Higher Education sector until his retirement in 2012 from the University of Buea. Though retired, Emeritus Professor Tala continues to work as consultant and PhD Dissertation Committee member, and is Interim Vice Chancellor at the new created Saint Lawrence University.
